Pittsford is in the southeastern portion of Monroe County and just 8 miles from the city of Rochester. The area is known for its home, building, and greenspace preservation efforts. Additionally, it has 233 acres of active parkland. Thornell Farm Park, Hopkins Park, and Carpenter Park at the Port of Pittsford are notable.
